First, find out whether they really reach you
Delivery depends on the distance between you and someone who has gas to sell, so a service that says it covers a whole city or state may not cover your street. The honest answer comes from checking your exact address, ideally before you have paid.
DelivGas isn’t nationwide. We are focused on Festac and Amuwo-Odofin in Lagos and extending to Ikeja. The app checks your address before you pay, and if you are outside coverage it lets you ask to be notified.
Know which of the three models you are buying
- Refill and return: someone collects your own cylinder, gets it filled and brings it back. This is how DelivGas works.
- Cylinder exchange: you hand over an empty and receive a different filled cylinder. Ask who owns it, and what condition the replacement must be in.
- New cylinder and gas: useful for a first purchase, but check whether the price covers the cylinder, the regulator and the hose, or only the gas.
Ask for the full price before you pay
A low price per kilogram doesn’t tell you what you will actually pay. Look for three numbers: the gas, the delivery charge and any service fee. Then work out the total for the quantity you want. Our guide to 12.5kg refills shows how to do that.
Find out who has your cylinder at each stage
Your cylinder is yours and it is valuable, so before it leaves your door you should know who is carrying it, where it is going and how you will reach them. A named rider, a way to call them and a record of each handover all help if something goes wrong.
On DelivGas, each handover uses a code: you give a pickup code to the rider, the merchant releases a code for the filled cylinder, and you give a return code when it comes back. See the full journey.
Check what happens if it goes wrong
- Can you cancel, and until when?
- If the delivery fails, how do you get your cylinder back?
- Where do refunds go, and how quickly?
- Is there support you can actually reach during the hours you’re likely to order?
Ordering on DelivGas, step by step
- Download the app, sign up with your phone number and add your address.
- Choose a merchant, then enter a weight or naira amount, or tap 3kg, 6kg or 12.5kg.
- Check the gas price, delivery fee and service fee, then pay by card, bank transfer or wallet.
- Read out your pickup code when the rider arrives, and follow your cylinder on the map.
- Check your cylinder when it comes back, then give your return code to finish the order.
You can cancel until the rider has used your pickup code, and refunds go into your DelivGas wallet. We don’t offer payment on delivery: you pay in the app when you order.
